Lu Deqing stands in front of a heart-shaped light her youngest son put up before leaving the village to find work in the city. Both her sons are migrant laborers; one is a tofu seller and the other a porter. They tell their parents that they neither make enough money to help them financially, nor enough to visit them during Chinese New Year. Lu misses her sons terribly and wishes daily for them to come home and get married.
